Runic Astrology July 13th - July 19th: What do the runes have in store for you this week?

By Randi Bjærum

Runic astrologer Randi Bjærum uses the ancient Viking practice to forecast your love, money, career, style and health every week

Divination in runes is an ancient art that can be traced back to the Norse God Odin. Old scriptures show that the Vikings then continued this tradition – they even used used rune symbols in jewellery, clothing and weapons to boost their energy.

Each person has their own rune stone, depending on on what day, and at what time they were born. This unique birth rune indicates the abilities, talents and resources that you bring into your life.

But as the universe is constantly changing, daily, weekly or monthly runic astrology can tell you how events, actions and things affect your life. It can also reveal what energies, events and changes are occurring, and how you can best act on them. A runic horoscope is a guide to your spiritual journey and a guide on how to live life to the fullest.

Perthro (13th January - 28th January)

The New Moon at the beginning of the week asks you to be patient with the unknown. Like a sealed envelope, not everything is meant to be opened at once. Some answers need time before they make sense. Look at the bigger picture.

Algiz (28th January - 13th February)

This week’s New Moon encourages you to protect what is just beginning to grow. Just as a fledgling needs shelter before it can fly, your plans will benefit from being carefully guarded. Let your ideas develop in peace. Use your time constructively by bringing existing projects to completion.

Sowilo (13th February - 27th February)

This week’s New Moon asks you to focus your attention on what you want more of. Especially over the next two weeks, the Sun’s light can bring growth—but only if you turn towards it. You’ll gain more energy by focusing on what truly inspires you.

Teiwaz (27th February - 14th March)

The New Moon at the beginning of the week signals that the next two weeks are less about quick results and more about the choices that will lay the foundations for the rest of the summer. At the same time, old themes may resurface one last time before they finally release their hold. Be selective.

Berkano (14th March - 30th March)

This week’s New Moon encourages you to show kindness without expecting anything in return. Compassion is a seed that will grow back to you. The warmth you offer now will put down deep roots. Think of it as good karma that will return when you need it most.

Ehwaz (30th March - 14th April)

The New Moon at the beginning of the week may become your compass over the next fortnight. You don’t need to know every stop along the way. What matters most is that the direction feels right. Choose your course before your pace. Trust your intuition.

Mannaz (14th April - 29th April)

The New Moon at the beginning of the week may feel like a map of the stars. Your future becomes clearer when you lift your gaze. Don’t let the details of everyday life obscure your bigger dreams. Think bigger than you usually do.

Laguz (29th April - 14th May)

This week’s New Moon may sharpen your intuition over the next two weeks. A dream, a symbol or a powerful feeling could reveal where your heart truly wants to go. Trust what cannot be explained.

Ingwaz (14th May – 29th May)

The New Moon at the beginning of the week brings the message that whatever you protect now will have the best conditions for growth. Don’t allow other people’s doubts to take root in your plans. Give one idea a little extra care.

Othala (29th May – 14th June)

This week’s New Moon reminds you that lasting change always begins with something small. The tiniest seed can grow into the strongest tree. Just as an acorn can become a mighty oak, what you plant now can flourish over time. Plant something—in the earth, in your heart or in your life. Think long term.

Dagaz (14th June – 29th June)

A new cycle begins with this week’s New Moon, even if you can’t yet see the full landscape ahead. It brings a quiet yet powerful energy, like sunrise. The most important thing is your willingness to begin. Say yes to a new beginning.

Fehu (29th June – 14th July)

The New Moon at the beginning of the week invites you to invest in something that won’t bring immediate rewards. A small action this week could have great significance later in the year. Choose one dream to nurture each day. Sow the seeds.

Uruz (14th July – 29th July)

An opportunity may present itself around the New Moon at the beginning of the week. The door is ajar, but it won’t stay open forever. You don’t need to have all the answers before you step through it. Take the first step without needing to see the whole path.

Thurisaz (29th July – 13th August)

This week’s New Moon signals that the time has come to build something new from the ground up. It will be stronger if you shape it slowly rather than rushing the process. Take your time. Begin with a solid foundation.

Ansuz (13th August – 29th August)

Your words carry extra power this week. What you write, say or promise could become the beginning of something important. Set your intention in clear words. The New Moon at the beginning of the week may inspire you in the right direction. Listen to yourself.

Raidho (29th August – 13th September)

A new path opens where few have walked before. The energy of this week’s New Moon encourages you to choose curiosity over habit. Take a different route than usual. If you’re used to speeding through life on the motorway, now is the time to choose the winding path instead—or vice versa.

Kenaz (13th September – 28th September)

This week’s New Moon signals that you now have the chance to shape something while it is still soft. Don’t wait until everything has set. Think of it as turning a clay pot before it dries and hardens into ceramic. Adjust your course while it’s still easy.

Gebo (28th September – 13th October)

This week’s New Moon brings many positive signs of a fresh start. Like a blank page in a notebook, a new chapter lies before you. Don’t be afraid of empty pages—they are filled with possibility. Write down three things you want to create.

Wunjo (13th October – 28th October)

This week’s New Moon invites you to embrace the energy of the butterfly. Change comes more easily when you don’t cling too tightly. The most beautiful things arrive when you allow them to land in their own time. Let go of the need for control. Flow with the changes.

Hagalaz (28th October – 13th November)

This week’s New Moon promises you a rainbow if you lift your gaze. After a period of uncertainty, a new direction begins to emerge. Hope grows when you dare to look beyond what has been. Look for opportunities.

Nauthiz (13th November – 28th November)

This week’s New Moon encourages you to pay close attention to the details. Small things can have great significance. What seems insignificant now could become the foundation for something important. Cherish small beginnings.

Isa (28th November – 13th December)

The stillness before the day begins holds answers you won’t find in the rush. This week’s New Moon encourages you to listen more than you act. Start one morning without a screen. Give yourself time to connect with your soul and your inner strength, free from outside distractions.

Jera (13th December – 28th December)

This week’s New Moon encourages you to think long term. What you plant over the next fortnight may not bear fruit until much later. This week and next are about patience, careful planning and lasting rewards. Choose what endures.

Eihwaz (28th December – 13th January)

This week’s New Moon signals that the next two weeks are a time for building bridges. You have the opportunity to reconnect where there has previously been distance. A new connection could become deeply significant. Reach out to someone who has been on your mind.
