Continuing its 250th anniversary celebrations, Royal Copenhagen has unveiled its latest collection, ‘Our Heritage Explored,’ which not only revives icons from the archives but also debuts fresh pieces that expand its repertoire beyond porcelain
It’s safe to say that it’s been a monumental year for Royal Copenhagen. In a milestone rarely reached, the beloved Danish porcelain maker honours its 250th anniversary – a joyous celebration that has unfolded throughout the year, from the Queen Margrethe of Denmark-illustrated mug released in January and the Klara Lilja artist collaboration launched in May, to the recent magical dinner co-hosted with Vogue Scandinavia during Copenhagen Fashion Week.
And the festivities aren’t over. Today, the company has unveiled its latest collection, dubbed ‘Our Heritage Explored’, which perfectly encapsulates its centuries-long journey, delving into its precious archives while also looking to the future. At the centre of it all is the setting always crowned by Royal Copenhagen’s charming, meticulously crafted pieces: the table.
To create the ultimate artful and elegant tablescape that forges lasting memories, ‘Our Heritage Explored’ expands beyond porcelain, introducing sculptural crystal glassware, plush tablecloths, napkins and placemats, and soft-shaded candles to complete the dreamy ambience – “bringing the Royal Copenhagen universe full circle,” as creative director Jasper Toron Nielsen puts it. “Though glassware is a new addition, the elements that adorn it, such as snails and waves, are deeply rooted in our porcelain and quintessentially Royal Copenhagen,” he continues.

The company’s storied past reverberates throughout the collection, from the nature-inspired motifs harking back to the ‘Blue Fluted’ porcelain, intricately stitched onto silky baby-blue cotton-and-linen-blend table clothes, to the same delicate cobalt-blue pattern adorning handmade nautical serveware and generous fruit baskets. The line-up also revives two icons from the archives: the striking ‘Blue Fluted Full Lace Candelabra’ and ‘Blue Fluted Full Lace Rectangular Dish’, the latter of which traces its origins back to the late 1800s.
“Celebrating 250 years is a remarkable milestone and a proud moment for Royal Copenhagen. With ‘Heritage Explored’, we honour our rich heritage while continuing to tell new stories of togetherness and beauty,” reflects Toron Nielsen. “Exploring our archives has been a true joy, inspiring the creation of ‘Unika’ sculptures that embody royal heritage, exquisite craftsmanship, and the hand-painted details that have defined Royal Copenhagen for generations.”
