Backstage at Rotate’s spring/summer 2026 show, hairstylist Cim Mahony channelled disco-era glamour with paparazzi-proof shine. The star? A just-launched hair oil that hit the runway right after release
There was no mistaking the disco-fuelled Bianca Jagger energy backstage at Rotate’s spring/summer 2026 show. But if one thing brought order to the buzzy pre-show frenzy, it was this season's hair: paparazzi-proof and unmistakably glossy. “We wanted healthy shiny hair, old Chloé vibes, with a touch of the 1970s,” says Rotate’s go-to hair maestro Cim Mahony, referencing the undone glamour that gave the look its edge.
Dyson’s newly launched Omega oil was the secret ingredient to this high-shine style. “It landed on the catwalk just hours after it launched,” says Mahony, who used the hero product on every single model. “It helped us make every head of hair look shiny and healthy. We used it both as a pre-blow-dry primer and for a glowing finish.” Makeup came courtesy of Caia Cosmetics, offering fresh-faced contrast to the high-wattage hair.
Fifteen minutes before showtime, the team brushed through the hair before misting on the Chitosan Styling Spray, another newcomer. Then, two seconds before hitting the runway, a final whisper of Oribe hairspray sealed the look in place. The result? A glossy runway stampede that would've easily fit in at Studio 54. “Caught in a gorgeous paparazzi storm,” smiles Mahony. Exactly how Rotate girls should be.
