Red-y or not: This is the shade seizing the streets of Copenhagen

Tomato, crimson and scarlet, red is the undeniable shade taking over the street style accessorising at Copenhagen Fashion Week this season

Red is always a fixture at Copenhagen Fashion Week, perhaps most visible in the jet-lagged eyes and noses rouged by chilly weather, but recently, a more deliberate splash of the shade has been noticeable. While deep burgundy once reigned, and tomato red had its moment in the sun, this fiery hue is now making a subtle but impactful statement by migrating to our accessories.

This week has been painted crimson, with the city's style set embracing red accessories as the defining detail. From essential cold-weather accoutrements like hats and scarves (a necessity against the sub-zero chill), to statement totes, bold trainers, and even, in one striking case, eye-catching contact lenses, the vibrant hue is undeniable.

Below, Vogue Scandinavia's curated shopping edit – plus some of the most arresting appearances of red spotted on the Copenhagen show-goers for styling inspiration.
