The Swedish actor and Dune star hit up the 2024 Met Gala green carpet in a dramatic Thom Browne ensemble that featured a surprise element

Some may argue that there was a certain lack of drama within this year’s Met Gala looks, but there was a contingent of A-listers who brought theatrics to the green carpet, including Swedish actor Rebecca Ferguson. Attending the prestigious event for the very first time, the Dune star donned a scene-stealing custom look courtesy of Thom Browne.

Emerging on the Met steps draped under a billowing inky black silk moiré floor-length cape, with the sky-blue lining of the piece adorned with flying raven motifs, Ferguson’s ensemble featured a surprise element as she unfurled her cape, revealing a striking, sequin-dripping high-neck frock underneath. Embroidered with 60,000 green and blue Swarovski crystals crafted into delicate flowers, the gown matched perfectly with this year’s Met Gala dress code, Garden of Time, which, in a nutshell, explored the beauty and its fleeting nature found in both our environment and in fashion. The ravens – a motif plucked from Thom Browne’s autumn/winter ‘24 collection – added a dark and gothic touch, fitting for the poetic yet melancholic mood of the dress code.

Ferguson’s Met Gala appearance isn’t the first time the actor has worn Thom Browne. In fact, many of her jaw-dropping looks during Dune press tours having been created by the designer. It’s definitely a flourishing partnership we can’t get enough of, and we eagerly await what the two whip up next.
