Yesterday evening, Oslo Runway celebrated its own 10-year anniversary and a decade of Norwegian fashion with a gala and awards ceremony at the stunning MUNCH museum. We have your exclusive first look at the evening

Norwegians aren’t known for being self-congratulatory, which made last night’s dinner, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Oslo Runway, all the more charming. Held on the mezzanine of the extraordinary MUNCH museum (the same venue at which Pearl Octopuss.y presented its latest collection just moments earlier), and co-hosted by Oslo Runway, Promenaden and Norwegian Fashion Hub, the gala dinner brought out all the major players in the local fashion industry (not to mention a handful of international guests). The main event? Ten awards handed out to unsuspecting power players in the Norwegian fashion community, all of which started their acceptance speech with some genuine form of “this is so unexpected”.

Hosted by Oslo Runway CEO Elin O. Carlsen, the evening recognised longstanding power players like Holzweiler and Tom Wood, instrumental institutions like Steen & Strøm and unparalleled innovators, like Elise By Olsen, founder of the International Library of Fashion Research. Also celebrated were the next generation of Norwegian talents, most notably recent Esmod Oslo grad Ola Moe whose brand Heiemo snagged the inaugural Steen & Støm talent award. The evening culminated in the coveted Tribute Award, scooped up by Pearl Octopuss.y.

As the night unfolded, it became clear just how far the Norwegian fashion scene has come, growing through grit and determination, craftsmanship and innovation into a force to be reckoned with. Between the award presentations, influencers and artists, designers and editors engaged in lively conversation, enjoying family style dishes and free-flowing wine.

Afterwards, guests grabbed the elevator up to the 13th floor to enjoy a cocktail or two with the stunning view of the fjords. Only at Oslo Runway.
