What happens when Omega taps Norwegian It girl Darja Barannik to host a decadent women-only dinner in her hometown of Oslo to celebrate the new Aqua Terra 30mm? An evening of excellent looks and spilled secrets, of course

Last week, in a tucked-away room in the extraordinary Ekeberg restaurant in Oslo overlooking the Oslofjord (the view is truly unmatched), Omega and Norwegian It girl Darja Barannik curated an evening that was the very embodiment of quiet luxury (or, as the dress code on the minimal burgundy invitation stated, “secret luxury”). A celebration of the watch brand’s new Aqua Terra 30mm collection, a stunningly understated timepiece that perfectly embodies the evening’s theme, it was a night that matched vibes and aesthetics – elegant, intimate and truly unforgettable.

Those aforementioned vibes were realised not only via the setting, but Barannik’s carefully curated guest list. “I’ve gathered a group of women I deeply admire – entrepreneurs, creatives, actors and leaders in fashion, beauty and media – for a night that’s all about connection, conversation and a bit of mystery,” says Barannik, who has been working with Omega for over a decade. “Hosting this dinner is not only a celebration of our continued collaboration, but also a chance to bring Omega’s universe to life in a more intimate, personal way.”

Gathered around the black and burgundy table (which also showcased a handful of watches, displayed under glass cloches, were Barannik’s Vogue Scandinavia cover co-stars Nina Sandbech and Mariann Theodorson, Lisa Olsson and Gine Margrethe, all of whom honoured the evening’s dress code in sleek, minimal (mostly black) looks. Given that the Aqua Terra collection’s campaign is centred around secrets, it was only fitting that guests engaged in intimate conversation. “It’s a campaign that captures friendship, inclusivity and authenticity in such a modern, powerful way,” says Barranik. “It highlights the little secrets we share among friends, and that idea became the vision for tonight.”

The watch itself, meanwhile, carries a secret of its own. Hidden within the Aqua Terra 30mm is Omega’s new calibre – the brand’s most ambitious precision engineering to date (its the small but powerful size of the movement that makes it so impressive). Rendered in 18K Moonshine™ Gold, 18K Sedna™ Gold, stainless steel, and two-tone combinations, the timepiece comes in 12 distinct iterations, allowing a sense of personal expression for the wearer.

It was an evening of connection, champagne and gorgeous views – a quiet respite in a hectic autumn season. “This dinner is about honouring the quiet strength and effortless beauty of women supporting women,” says Barannik. “It’s a moment to come together, laugh, share and be inspired.”
