Unveiled last Friday during Paris Fashion Week, Nordiska Galleriet has teamed up with the renowned French-Canadian creative on a collection of striking, cutting-edge modular furniture. Below, everything you need to know about the collaboration
Even if you’re not a design aficionado, chances are you’ve stumbled upon the work of acclaimed designer and creative director Willo Perron. The Montreal-born visionary and co-founder of Perron-Roettinger has collaborated with everyone from Rihanna (masterminding the stage design for that internet-breaking 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance) and Beyoncé to Chanel and Cartier. Renowned for his unconventional approach, Perron blends influences from art and design into a singular, minimalist yet surreal aesthetic.
It’s a similar mood Perron has lent to an exclusive collaboration with Swedish high-end furniture and interior design company Nordiska Galleriet (NoGa). Unveiled last Friday at the Matter and Shape design salon during Paris Fashion Week, the team-up features a series of modular tables and mirrors handcrafted from high-quality fibreglass by a team of skilled artisans.

“I have a real affinity for Scandinavian design – its precision, craftsmanship, and timeless aesthetic. NoGa’s strong foundation and heritage made partnering with them an easy decision,” Perron tells Vogue Scandinavia. “The majority of my work sits in this intersection of seriousness and playfulness, which I think NoGa was very keen on for this collection. It walks that line combining the richness of the lacquered, glossy colours and the modular, almost building block nature of the pieces.”
Having always been fascinated by modularity, creating adaptable furniture for his collaboration with NoGa felt like a natural approach. “My goal is to create pieces that move fluidly between different environments, growing alongside the people who live with them,” Perron says. While highly functional, the collection – featuring six coffee and side tables along with mirrors in two sizes, rendered in sculptural shapes and vibrant hues (“Since I’ve had my place in Paris, I’ve felt drawn to deeper tones and I wanted that to come through in these pieces”) – immediately catches the eye.

From his work in fashion and music, “an element of spectacle,” as Perron puts it, tends to seep into his furniture designs as well. He took inspiration for the coffee tables from a catalogue of corporate office furniture from the 1980s and 1990s, which he became “obsessed” with. “When I tried to order the pieces and found they were discontinued, it planted the seed for the designs,” he explains. Meanwhile, the mirror, Perron says, “references the modular cement panelling of mid-century high rises, particularly their porthole-like forms, which I found incredibly compelling.”
Although they are statement pieces, their versatility and streamlined design allow them to feel at home in various spaces. “I can see these pieces working just as well in a sleek corporate office as they would in a more opulent, lush interior,” Perron says. “The modular nature of the designs also means there’s something for everyone – they can be tailored to suit different aesthetics and scales.”
