Next winter, we will not be wearing shirts

Despite the weather forecast, bra tops ruled the runways at Copenhagen Fashion Week autumn/winter 2022

Scandinavia is rather cold in the winter, so it was surprising to see a parade of bra tops coming down the runways at Copenhagen Fashion Week AW22. From sequinned and scrunched at Ganni to knitted and nearly nonexistent at A. Røge Hove, Danish designers made a case for losing one’s shirt, below-freezing temperatures be damned.

Luckily there were some clever styling tricks to stave off frostbite at the ready. That aforementioned Ganni piece – a delectable high-cut burgundy number – was found two ways; paired with a matching sequinned skirt and over a long-sleeve body-hugging dress. On a visit to the brand’s showroom during fashion week, a Ganni Girl helpfully pointed out that it would also look great over a white blouse. A. Røge Hove paired theirs with a knitted neck-warmer, which extended over the shoulders. Not exactly a parka, but something, for sure.
