Each May, New Balance reminds us that some of the subtlest shades can have the most impact. Below, find everything you need to know about this year's Grey Days drops – and step inside the Stockholm celebrations
Few colours command the quiet power of grey. Understated yet iconic, it’s the hue that defines New Balance – and every May, the brand honours this legacy with Grey Days, an annual celebration of its signature shade. For 2025, the tribute is bigger and bolder than ever.
Running throughout the month, Grey Days 2025 sees a striking assortment of both classic and contemporary styles rendered in every imaginable tone of grey. From pavement-ready sneakers to street-smart apparel, the collection spans 21 footwear and 11 apparel designs, all rooted in the brand’s enduring ethos: quality craftsmanship, timeless design, and fearless independence.
First introduced in the 1980s, grey became the brand’s unexpected answer to the bright whites and technicolour tones dominating the athletic world at the time. A reaction against the flashier trends, the muted hue reflected the urban landscapes where runners trained – complementing the concrete underfoot and standing out for its unassuming sophistication. “Grey looked good at any speed,” the brand notes, and the world took notice.

Today, the colour remains inseparable from New Balance’s aesthetic. And while the silhouettes have evolved, grey has become more than a colour, it’s a symbol of the brand’s global identity.
This year, the excitement reaches new heights with the reissue of the cult-classic 1300JP. Released just once every five years, the style is considered one of the most coveted in New Balance’s archive, revered for its impeccable construction and legendary status in sneaker culture. A true collector’s grail, the 1300JP exemplifies the artistry and innovation that have defined the brand for decades.
“Whether you’re new to the brand or a longtime loyalist, Grey embodies the promise of everything that sets New Balance apart,” says Brian Lynn, the brand’s global vice president of Lifestyle. “The symbolism of Grey has remained central to the brand for decades, and Grey Days 2025 showcases its diverse appeal.”

For Grey Days 2025, New Balance has reissued the cult-classic 1300J.
More than a launch, Grey Days is an homage. It’s a nod to heritage, a celebration of style, and a reminder that sometimes, the quietest colour speaks the loudest.
The Grey Shop has launched in New Balance stores, select retailers and on NewBalance.com and will include new and existing grey styles from the brand's lifestyle, performance, Numeric, and kids ranges, including the 740, 9060, 1000, T500, Fresh Foam X 1080v1, and more, in addition to a selection of timeless grey apparel.
As part of New Balance’s global Grey Days 2025 celebration, Stockholm played host to a high-energy night of music, culture, and community. The event featured a surprise performance by audiovisual duo BIJI, fresh off a standout year, alongside a stacked local DJ lineup. Adding to the buzz, BIJI announced a new collaboration with Swedish cult artist Håkan Hellström ahead of their video drop on Friday. See all the snapshots below:
