Follow Finnish supermodel Suvi Riggs Koponen as she frolicks alongside the cherished eight-decade-old characters residing within the bucolic and brightly-hued serenity of Moominworld
Moominworld, situated on Kailo Island, Southeast Finland is a playground for both the imagination and these pearly white, wondrous characters to roam unrestrained. This year the environs are especially enchanting as Tove Jansson’s brilliant illustrations beckon forth their 80th birthday – calling for unbridled celebrations of Moomin-mania and the buoyant creativity they captivate.
Here, a visual narrative accompanies Vogue Scandinavia's latest issue. It ushers in autumn with a placid tale of the Moomin’s adventures and through storytelling and sartorial flair, encapsulates the joy filling the imagination-igniting, and magical realm that they so happily inhabit.
Set against the backdrop of tall fir trees and vividly painted treehouses, the Moomins and their charming companions are joined by Koponen, who dances in an array of floaty, diaphanous dresses and delivers an atmospheric reading from Jansson's 1970 novel Muumilaakson marraskuu (Moominvalley in November).
