From chunky lug soles to the most amazing heeled OTK-boots of the season, these are the upgraded classics that will work as your new wardrobe cornerstones
In collaboration with Christian Louboutin
Tired of sweatpants, dressing from the waist up and the long break from our beloved footwear collection? Us too. It’s finally time to sharpen up and rethink our shoe choices for autumn. Now that summer is officially behind us, we’re ready to welcome back some darker, autumnal colours, leather coats and, of course, the beloved boots. On my personal wishlist, wearability is highly prioritised, alongside some sharp, modern heel updates. Christian Louboutin’s latest collection is spot on, packed with statement OTK-boots, chunky lug soles and of course - comfortable slippers, that come with luxe upgrades in the form of studs and sleek logos.
Together with some light, trans-seasonal layering and autumnal favourite textures like leather and tweed, this is how to style your way through the new season.
The over-the-knee boot

The beloved over-the-knee boot makes a loud comeback this season. With a straight cut and retro look mock-croc, this Christian Louboutin pair is a contemporary twist on the classic style and a safe one to invest in this fall. As long as the weather allows, pair with some sporty, relaxed shorts. There is something nostalgically back-to-school about a black and white outfit, so wear these statement boots with a crispy white shirt and layer with a longer coat for some proportion play. When the temperatures drop, wear the boots layered over trousers and jeans. OTK-boots are considered cold-weather wardrobe staples that come with a leg-lengthening effect when layered over trousers in the same colour, so you are guaranteed to maximum wear out of this particular pair.

Speaking of shoe closet staples, nothing is more hard-working than the timeless black pump. Christian Louboutin’s newest addition comes with an alluring low vamp and pointed toe. Crafted in croc-embossed leather on an 85mm sturdy Cuban heel, which makes these pumps both sleek and wearable. Wear your new season pumps with split hem leggings - an ideal new wardrobe staple for dressing from the feet up without compromising comfort. An oversized button-down balances out the dressy pumps while ejecting the right amount of ease to our newly found relaxed take on dressing up. Optionally layer with a tonal blazer for a suited look that will work from day to night, while letting the colourful shirt stick out from underneath.
The lug boot
The chunky lug sole continues to dominate the boots market, but this season we are seeing additions of colour and creativity. Christian Louboutin’s Montezu Lug boots cleverly combine traditional masculine lines of a classic moccasin with the urban ankle boot, resulting in a sleek and wearable style that will serve you beyond the season. The stretch, pull-on boots sits effortlessly tight on the ankle, allowing for a flattering fit on both bare legs as well as worn over smart, carrot leg trousers. Layer with your favourite fitted top half and additional tailored pieces, and finish off the look with a coloured statement bag, like the Cabarock large tote.

The polished, block-heeled Chelsea boots come with just as much wearability as the chunky ankle boots but with a little added elegance. Crafted with a timeless, leg-lengthening square toe and embellished with metallic spikes that are a signature to Christian Louboutin. The heeled black ankle boot is a fundamental autumn staple; this pair is guaranteed to work with everything in your closet and fits any occasion. Pair softer textures like tweed with this Chelsea-meets-cowboy boot for a daytime look and a daring 90s mini dress for maximum nighttime impact.

Introducing the Navy Coolito slipper. Surely a style that's grown familiar to us over the past year, this sleek slip-on mule works just as well worn out as it does at home. With a comfortable, padded insole and sturdy leather-lined base, this flat is the ideal shoe paired with some relaxed tailored pieces. Keep the overall look casual, but work in some sharp pieces for a city look or dress them down as the ideal travel shoe. The cozy shearling wool upper is finished with a Louboutin signature, which is a feature often seen in the men's collection.

Christian Louboutin’s new hero style, the Coolito Swing Donna city mule also comes in a louder statement version. A refined silhouette that drawers inspiration from the male moccasin, crafted in a Madagascar animal motif and decorated with signature Morsetto spikes. This unisex style is available both in men's and women sizes and is the ideal flat for a night out. The raised and padded, croc-embossed leather sole enables maximum comfort and looks great paired with sharp dresses, tailored pieces or even paired back with jeans.
