Former Vogue Scandinavia cover girl Marianne Theodorsen has teamed up with Clermonte to design two covetable pieces of outerwear to suit any occasion
Recently, a slew of deeply covetable coats and jackets have been popping up on the feed of Norwegian It girl Marianne Theodorsen. Pretty standard stuff – except this time, the outerwear was designed by Theodorsen herself, in collaboration with Norwegian outwear brand Clarmont. “Thing is, I’ve been dreaming about making coats and jackets for a couple of years now, and I already had so many ideas,” says the former Vogue Scandinavia cover star. “So when Clermonte gave me the complete freedom to make whatever I wanted I immediately knew what I wanted to go for.”
The result is two pieces to suit all occasions: a “casual fab coat to save any outfit” and “that perfect little dressy jacket that could also work well with my baggy jeans”. The former, an elegant chocolate brown ankle-skimming overcoat, can be fitted with a detachable collar in either shaggy butter yellow shearling or pink faux fur. That jacket, meanwhile, is a delicious faux fur with a nipped waist, rendered in either butter yellow or brown. The capsule drops November 2nd.

It was Clermonte that reached out to Theodorsen about a year ago, “casually” asking if she would be up to do something together. “I went to the first meeting thinking we were gonna discuss the possibilities of doing one jacket,” she says. “But they were like, ‘One jacket? No no we need to do more – let’s do this we trust you’.”
The pieces are deeply Theodorsen-coded: playful yet polished, begging to be worn with a punkish attitude. “At this point in my life, it’s about finding the perfect balance between wearable and a little bit of fun,” she says. “I love something that can be worn over and over and over again but also has that little twist.” For her, the pieces strike that elusive balance of eye-catching yet effortless, at an accessible price point. “I feel a lot out there is very plain, very crazy or out of this world expensive,” she says. “And so I wanted to make something that is for everyone but also has that little edge that I love to add to my outfits.”

As the accompanying lookbook reveals, both pieces pair perfectly with casual everyday looks and occasion dressing – a particularly appealing proposition with holiday parties on the horizon. “The collars I’ve added to my blazers or worn with chunky knits and it’s so so good in my humble opinion,” Theodorsen adds.
For Theodorsen, trying the pieces on for the first time was a “total dream come true”. “I’ve been wanting this for so long and having gotten a little taste of it now,” she says. “I can say this is only the beginning.”
