The Danish interior brand has unveiled its latest lineup, ‘Fluid Arc’, introducing handmade wool rugs designed to add rhythm and softness to a room
Danish design house Linie Design has perfected the art of Scandinavian minimalism with its handcrafted rugs that aren’t austere or clinical, but warm, inviting and tactile. Now, the brand has launched its latest collection, dubbed ‘Fluid Arc’, which taps into a trend that has been sweeping the interiors sphere for a while: organic, flowing shapes. Comprising three hand-tufted, sculptural rugs crafted from 100 per cent wool, the collection offers pieces that add depth and movement to a room.
“‘Fluid Arc’ emerged from nature’s quiet movement – the lines that form without being constructed. I was drawn to the organic rhythms of the landscape: shifts, contours, traces of time and growth,” explains the collection’s designer, Urd Moll Gundermann. “I wanted the rugs to soften the architecture of a space. Many interiors are defined by straight lines and sharp angles. The flowing silhouette introduces a different rhythm, something more human and natural.”

Rendered in neutral, calming shades of ‘Chalk’, ‘Earth’ and ‘Olive’, the rugs feature a contoured, puddle-like silhouette, complete with delicate, swirling hand-drawn lines that bolster their dynamic form. It was through drawings that the collection for Moll Gundermann started from. “I began exploring intuitive, flowing lines by hand, allowing them to move freely across the paper. In that process, the collection revealed itself,” she says. “Within that movement lies an energy and a human imperfection that cannot be digitally created.”
Working with Linie Design’s skilled team of artisans and weavers, Moll Gundermann’s drawings were then translated into textile form. “The lines were carefully carved into the tufted wool, preserving the original gesture,” she continues. “The movement is frozen into the material: what began as a free line becomes a tactile structure. Throughout the entire process, the aim has been to preserve that first, immediate energy.”

Rugs, while a simple element, have the power to transform a room. The shape, colour, pattern and material you choose for your rug can set the mood for the entire space. “I see rugs as emotional anchors within a space. They ground a room both physically and atmospherically,” Moll Gundermann muses. “In modern interiors, a rug introduces softness and tactility. It absorbs sound, creates warmth and defines zones without building walls.”
As for how she imagines people styling the ‘Fluid Arc’ collection in their homes? “I imagine them being incorporated thoughtfully. They work beautifully in minimalist spaces where their form can stand out clearly, but they can also soften more structured environments,” she says. “Furniture may rest lightly on the curves or deliberately cut across them. What matters most is allowing the silhouette space to breathe, so the sense of movement is preserved. I hope the rug is experienced as a quiet landscape within the home, something that brings warmth, flow and a sensory presence into everyday life.”
