Editor in chief Martina Bonnier on why Vogue Scandinavia's latest digital cover (and first snow-dusted cover shoot) is not to be missed
There are few things as quintessentially Scandinavian as skiing. Growing up, I spent countless days on cross-country skis with my grandfather – gliding through the snow-blanketed landscaped of Sälen in Sweden and Trysil in Norway. As an adult, I discovered the thrill of downhill skiing in the Alps – something that, at first, didn’t come easily, but now brings me immense joy each winter. Skiing, whether cross-country or downhill, has become a rhythm of life for so many of us in the Nordics: a way to connect with nature, with loved ones, and, in some ways, with ourselves.
It’s this connection that inspired our latest digital cover starring one of Sweden’s favourite online creators: Janni Delér.
Janni’s relationship with skiing runs deep. Having grown up making the Scandinavian pilgrimage to snowy peaks, then touring the world with one of Sweden’s top free-style skiers, she has always felt at home on the slopes. Now, she regularly takes her family to the slopes surrounding her mother’s Dalarna cabin, sharing those same snowy moments that shaped her own childhood.

Long before the word influencer entered our vernacular, Janni was sharing her life online with an authenticity that still defines her today. She was, and remains, one of the originals – a pioneer of Nordic digital storytelling whose life has unfolded in parallel with the evolution of social media. Over the years, we’ve seen her transition from a blogger and WAG figure to a mother, entrepreneur and leading creator - all the while keepng her Swedish humility and humour.
