From eye-catching accents to investment-worthy pieces, discover our September edit below

September is a month of transition. The air turns crisper, leaves begin to shift colour, and layering returns to our daily wardrobe rotation after months of breezy summer wares. For me, September also marks the moment when my inner homebody snaps awake from its warm-weather-induced hibernation, sparking a nesting mode fuelled by a burning desire to make my apartment the cosiest, most inviting space to escape to on chilly, darkening evenings.

In the wider interiors sphere, autumn, like new seasons tend to do, heralds a time for a clean slate of sorts, punctuated by exciting launches for everyone looking to refresh their space. Below, I’ve curated the Nordic interior releases from September that caught our eye, from festive Royal Copenhagen porcelain plates and plush geometric-patterned Homehagen towels to an ambient, limited-edition table lamp designed by Poul Henningsen – the kind of pieces that will make you savour time spent at home.

Chinoiserie Fauna Brown wall mural

Chinoiserie Fauna Brown

Murals have been hailed as the new wallpaper, and Swedish design company BelarteSTUDIO has put its own fresh spin on the trend with its latest collection of contemporary wall murals, designed to elevate interiors while keeping sustainability and longevity front and centre. The new editions, crafted to harmonise with various spaces, feature striking patterns and motifs, from delicate florals to Art Deco-inspired forms.

Why we love it: Murals are certainly one of the most impactful ways to add character to your home and make a room sing. We found ourselves swooning over BelarteSTUDIO’s latest designs, which, while neutral-toned, are full of movement, bringing a space to life with their nature-inspired motifs. Our top picks? The ‘Chinoiserie Fauna’ in Brown and ‘Charcoal Tiger’ in Olive Green.

Rubn

Atlas chandelier

Rubn ‘Atlas’ chandelier

Swedish brand Rubn has just unveiled its latest lighting design, the ‘Atlas’ chandelier. But this isn’t your typical chandelier – featuring a vertical silhouette that climbs up the wall, the geometric piece comprises stacked cylindrical shades on a steel frame, made from ribbed float glass and casting a soft, evenly diffused glow.

Why we love it: As winter approaches and the days grow shorter, ambient lighting becomes a must-have. The ‘Atlas’ chandelier caught our eye with its cool, unexpected form and the gentle light it radiates. Who wouldn’t love a statement piece that doesn’t sacrifice function?

Royal Copenhagen

Star fluted Christmas plate

Royal Copenhagen’ Star Fluted Christmas Plate’

The holidays arrive sooner than you think, and renowned Danish porcelain maker Royal Copenhagen is already ushering in the holiday spirit with its latest collection. Boasting festive tableware and tree decorations, among the highlights of the line-up is the ‘Star Fluted Christmas Plate’, which sees the brand’s signature porcelain adorned with a playful spruce wreath design, finished off with a glimmering gold rim.

Why we love it: Christmas is about getting together with your loved ones – often around a table laden with delicious bites. This holiday season, we’re setting the table with pieces that strike the sweet spot between merry and stylish, making Royal Copenhagen’s designs a perfect fit.

Homehagen Copenhagen

Geo pattern towels

Homehagen graphic towels

Danish brand Homehagen, known for its high-grade home textiles, recently introduced its latest collection, honing in on plush graphic towels available in three bold options: retro stripe, geometric pattern, and pin stripe. Crafted from luxe 600 GSM organic cotton, the towels promise to “deliver a lavishly soft and exceptionally absorbent experience,” whether you’re relishing a bath at home or heading poolside somewhere warm.

Why we love it: One of the easiest tricks to liven up your bathroom is to swap out plain, greige towels for patterned or coloured ones, which, in addition to their premium quality, is precisely why we’re adding these to our cart.

The Danish brand has now launched a special edition of the streamlined, lightweight piece, swathing it in a polished silver chrome metal finish complete with a clear acrylic shade. From balcony lounging to dinner table gatherings, the ‘Blossi Table Mini’ moves effortlessly with you.

Why we love it: There are lots of portable lamps are on the market today, but the ‘Blossi Table Mini’ delights with its minimalist design and the unexpected detail of its acrylic shade. The light is also easily rechargeable via USB-C, making it a breeze to use even for the most tech-novice among us.

Fredericia

Pato paper 4 leg chair

‘Pato Paper Chair’ by Welling / Ludvik for Fredericia Furniture

‘Do we need more things?’ is an apt question to ask in any field that produces new pieces for our already cluttered world. However, there are ways to create while minimising environmental harm. One such example is Fredericia Furniture’s latest release: the ‘Pato Paper Chair’, designed by Welling / Ludvik and marking a milestone in sustainable design. Developed with complete circularity in mind – in collaboration with Swedish material pioneer PaperShell – the pared-back chair features a shell crafted entirely from biogenic material, while remaining fossil-free and chemical-free. The future of furniture design can be bright if done right.

Why we love it: In an industry where too many companies disregard or outright ignore the damage they might be doing to the planet, brands that make sustainability a core focus deserve praise. Yet the ‘Pato Paper Chair’ isn’t just eco-conscious, but also visually appealing, ticking all the right boxes.

8

Layered

Strata jute rug

Layered ‘Strata Braided Jute’ rug

Swedish interiors brand Layered is behind some of the most covetable rugs in the Nordics, and its newest addition, the ‘Strata Braided Jute’ rug, handmade from natural plant fibres, showcases the intricate craftsmanship the brand is loved for, while unveiling a more understated design. Rendered in earthy brown, burgundy or green hues, the rug is adorned with a checkered design and incorporates a slightly thicker, more robust texture than traditional jute rugs.

Why we love it: In contrast to the previous colour-rich Layered launches, we were drawn to the grounded hues and the rustic construction of the ‘Strata Braided Jute’ rug. It’s easy to imagine the piece gracing a seaside summerhouse or a modern inner-city apartment, a versatility that makes it a true standout.

9

Louis Poulsen

Table lamp in dusty terracotta

Louis Poulsen limited edition PH 3/2 table lamp in Dusty Terracotta

Danish visionary Poul Henningsen created a series of tiered, layered lamps that became instant design classics. Honouring his legacy, Danish design company Louis Poulsen has released a limited edition, PH 3/2 table lamp in a new colourway, Dusty Terracotta. Initially designed in 1927, the lamp embodies Henningsen’s trailblazing design quest to create the most pleasant light possible through the three hand-blown glass tiers forming its shade.

Why we love it: Any design fanatic would be thrilled to get their paws on a Poul Henningsen creation, but what we especially love about this new release is the shade’s hazy hue, which casts an even more atmospheric glow.

10

Granit

Silas stool in pine

Granit ‘Silas’ stool

Swedish brand Granit recently introduced its architectural ‘Silas’ stool, which is made from 100 per cent FSC-certified pine. Doubling as a bedside table, the stackable stool is both versatile and refined, and even has tables and benches to match.

Why we love it: Hear us out: every home needs a stool, whether used as a table, extra seating, or simply sitting pretty in the corner. Beyond its timeless, minimalist design, we appreciate that the ‘Silas’ stool harnesses responsibly sourced wood – and it won’t break the bank.
