How this pair of Vogue editors style themselves for fashion week

By Vogue

Why H&M Studio’s autumn/winter ‘26 collection is on the packing lists of Honey Sweet Elias and Madeline Harper Fass this season

A typical day in a Vogue editor’s fashion week schedule is filled to the brim with runway shows and showroom appointments, dinners at dusk and late-night parties (all while working on the go, of course). For seasoned fashion month fixtures like British Vogue’s fashion market editor Honey Sweet Elias and Vogue.com’s fashion market director, Madeline Harper Fass, packing a tightly edited wardrobe of endlessly versatile pieces that can each be styled multiple ways is the secret to navigating the month-long marathon in style.

This September, the pair turned to H&M Studio’s autumn/winter ‘26 collection to form the foundation of their wardrobes for the New York, London, Milan and Paris circuit. The result is a tightly curated edit that is as suitcase-friendly as it is street style-ready.

Inspired by black-and-white fashion photography from the 1990s, the latest H&M Studio collection is grounded in what Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor and head of design womenswear at H&M, describes as “great tailoring”. “But what excited us was breaking it open,” she explains. “Heavy wool next to delicate lace detailing. Precise construction with deliberately unfinished edges. The tension between those things is what makes the collection feel alive.”

Known for interpreting pieces through their own distinct lenses, Elias and Fass embraced the H&M Studio AW26 collection’s contrasting silhouettes and fabrics to create looks that work from the first show of the day to the last event of the evening.

Captured by Vogue in Meet Me At Fashion Week, our two transatlantic experts talk shop, swapping styling tips and tricks. Making the most of that rare moment of recharge at the hotel between shows, the pair make personalised selects from their H&M Studio AW26 collection picks before heading back out to discover what fashion week next has in store.

Outerwear, naturally, takes centre stage. Londoner Elias opted for a black padded coat trimmed with faux fur and a long-line blazer dress, while native New Yorker Fass selected a charcoal wool trench and a black slouchy leather jacket with funnel necklines – practical investments for the fluctuating temperatures between fashion week venues. Both layered their coats over lightweight separates: high-waisted denim trousers, a frothy knee-length skirt, a strappy jersey tank and an hourglass-shaped cotton-poplin shirt, ready to adapt when the pace – and the temperature – picks up.

The H&M Studio AW26 collection spans a versatile palette, from enduring neutrals – black, grey, white and off-white – to confident injections of colour. In keeping with her personal style, Fass gravitated towards the brighter end of the spectrum, experimenting with silhouettes that transition seamlessly from midday to midnight. A diaphanous pink skirt, layered beneath an effortless oversized shirt and classic white T-shirt, for example. Elsewhere, a silver sequin, lace-trimmed slip catches the light beneath her leather jacket.

Elias, meanwhile, balances ease with elegance in a deep satin co-ord patterned with sienna stripes, or a softly textured knee-length black skirt and sharp blazer dress. Packed and ready to head onto Paris Fashion Week – suitcases brimming with H&M Studio selects – both Fass and Elias are set for the season and street style ready.

H&M Studio Autumn/Winter 2026 will be available in selected stores and at hm.com from 24 September 2026.
