Han Kjøbenhavn takes a trip down memory lane through this warped window into his suburban youth
Ceremonial streetwear gets couture treatment in Han Kjøbenhavn’s spring/summer '26 collection, 'Another Day', where fabric dangles from padded shoulders and hips, while collars and hoods protrude to engulf heads. Models shimmy down the runway in three dimensional mermaid skirts detailed with bulging fabric, shiny artificial feathers and clinging faux leather. Its all obvious and intentional, reflecting an exaggerated restraint.
There's an alien likeness to the snug armour-like designs and bug-eyed glasses that stalk down the runway, but there’s nothing otherworldly behind Creative Director Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen’s designs. 'Another Day' is a remembrance of his suburban youth, capturing the mundane of everyday activities. Jerseys sport logos of a döner shop and spray-tan salon. Tracksuits, while not quite meant for exercise, call forth fluorescent gym lights and trips to the corner shop. Together, they tell a story of suburban masculinity.
“The foundation is always my upbringing,” explains Wikkelsø Davidsen. “Each collection is just a new chapter in the same universe. It’s another version of the same story, just told from a slightly different time in my life.” While turning back the clock, he stays true to his expression that has come to define contemporary Scandinavian design.
