Bold, bright and at times bonkers, Gustaf Westman unveils three of his prototypes that never made it into production
For any creative, it's true that not every idea works out – a reality Vogue Scandinavia Living cover star Gustaf Westman knows well. The Swedish designer has built an international following with his bulbous, high-impact objects, beloved amongst VIPs from Rihanna to Olivia Rodrigo. But not every sketch is destined to make it to the shop floor.
Exclusively for Vogue Scandinavia, Westman walks us through three pieces still sitting in his studio that he admits he simply doesn’t like. From the comically oversized to the slightly infected-looking, these are the prototypes that never made it beyond the testing phase – and have never been seen before.
