Norwegian actor Renate Reinsve returned to the Golden Globes last night in an intricately fringed Louis Vuitton design. Embellished with hundreds of thousands of hand-sewn bugle beads, the look was a true feat of craftsmanship – and, as Reinsve puts it, “magic”
Renate Reinsve continued her Louis Vuitton love affair tonight at the 2026 Golden Globes. The Norwegian actor, who is nominated for her starring role in Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value teamed up with Nicolas Ghesquière for an aged gunmetal two-piece.
Fringe was the name of the game: Reinsve’s bustier and skirt were embellished with over 800,000 bugle beads, each of which was sewn on by hand into 2,900 fringes. It’s no surprise that, with that volume of embroidery, the look was a true labor of love. It took over 2,840 hours for the Louis Vuitton team to bring the dress off the sketchpad – and it’s safe to say the effort was worth it. “It’s magic and my most favourite dress ever,” Reinsve tells Vogue. “And that’s saying a lot.”

Though Reinsve is a seasoned awards show attendee by now, she might not see herself that way. “Well, I’m not sure I am a regular, but I’m happy to be here,” she says. “The day is calm and fun – we’ve already decided on the look and glam, so it’s just getting it done – of course, some nerves, but I made everyone take a shot!” With stylist Karla Welch on hand, Reinsve is ready to leave the fashion to the professionals and clock into a bartending shift. “We have a joke that Karla is the captain of the look, but I’m the captain of the drinks,” she says.
With the drinks flowing ahead of the carpet, Reinsve has one goal in mind for the night: “Dancing!!!!!” (Exclamation points hers.)
