Danish interior label Ferm Living has unveiled its autumn/winter 2025 collection – and it is nothing short of flawless. Drawing on the aesthetic legacies of the Victorian, pre-Bauhaus and Art Deco movements, the collection treats design as a vessel for emotion, memory and lived experience.
Rather than literally replicating these eras, Ferm reimagines them as a quiet rebellion against the rational minimalism that has long defined modern interiors. The theatricality and elegance of Art Deco meet the intimacy of Victorian and pre-Bauhaus influences, culminating in a contemporary practice that prizes depth over simplicity. Polished metals and mirrored surfaces encourage self-perception and offer a subtly refracted reality, while reeded and rippled glass alternately veil and reveal, inviting curiosity. Grounding the collection are rich, tactile materials – dark-stained burl wood, for instance – alongside a recurring motif: historic botanical patterns, subtly reinterpreted for today.
