Elsa Hosk vys for vintage at the 2025 CFDA awards

By Eleanor Kittle

Former Vogue Scandinavia cover star, Elsa Hosk, dazzled at the 2025 CFDA awards in an illustrious combination of vintage Elie Saab and contemporary Jimmy Choo.

Whilst the recent CFDA Awards provided a veritable treasure trove of viral fashion moments (we're still quite obsessed with supermodel Amber Valletta reprising the iconic, plunging Versace 'Jungle Dress' that famously broke the internet when worn by J Lo in 2000) we naturally had our sartorial antennae scanning for notable Nordic appearances. And, thankfully, we were not left wanting. Making a strikingly stunning red-carpet entrance was two-time Vogue Scandinavia cover star, the inimitable Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk.

Hosk's ensemble was nothing short of a masterclass in distilled nostalgic glamour. She was impeccably dressed by renowned celebrity stylist Dani Michelle, renowned for her work with style mavens, including the likes of Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber. For the occasion, Hosk utterly eschewed the fleeting whim of modern trends, instead opting for a breathtaking piece of fashion history.

The Swede donned a spectacular, floor-length gown in liquid platinum from Elie Saab’s spring/summer '04 archives. The dress, a study in sensuous elegance, featured a dramatically plunging neckline and a slinky, figure-hugging silhouette, crafted from a shimmering, metallic fabric that caught the light with every turn.

Hosk completed her ensemble with the Celeste clutch from Jimmy Choo, the ultimate punctuation mark to her look. She swept her natural curls into a Pamela Anderson-esque updo – a masterclass in effortless glamour, with a few strategically placed, face-framing tendrils cascading delicately, evoking the soft-focus romance of old Hollywood's golden age. The resulting look was a breathtaking blend of modern sophistication and nostalgic elegance, proving that sometimes, the most iconic style is a subtle nod to the past.
