Coming to an office filled with fashionistas, I urgently have to update my wardrobe with some pieces that still can be worn forever but also be combined with everything else in my very minimalistic wardrobe. My ame is to look like CBK in the Calvin Klein office in the nineties, all sharp tailoring, quiet confidence, and that effortless monochrome that never asks for attention, yet always commands it.
Whether you just arrived at your new workplace or have quietly shaped the place for years, let this editor’s selection spark a little wish-list inspiration – whether you’re choosing something to make a change or simply treating yourself. After all, you are always worthy to treat yourself with a little gift.
The H&M Studio collection is now live and one of the pieces is this little cardigan that is perfect for layering. It has an asymmetric back which reminds me of the avant-garde fashion-labels in the nineties. There are several nice pieces in the collection, but this is my favourite.
I would wear this little vintage style silk top under the sweater, so that you just have a little feeling of the lace coming out in the rounded neckline and below the hem. It also gives a softness to my look.
All kinds of pencil skirts are a big trend for this spring. This skirt, which is a little bit longer, creates the perfect office look, since it’s easy to wear instead of a pair of suit trousers. I would wear mine with a belt.
This thin belt with a silver buckle is the perfect finishing touch to my outfit. A cool belt is the perfect accessory to upgrade any look, and works as well to your jeans as to define your waist on your little slipdress.
I absolutely need a pair of statement earrings, and since I am a silver (or white gold) person, these ones from All Blues with an - again - asymmetrical shape are perfect.
This beautiful bag has the most perfect shape and is huge enough to fit everything I have to carry with me to work. Now I have to go to pilates early before work, and this bag has a side pocket where I can hide my sweaty clothes.
To complete my look and try to come as close as possible to my modern incarnation of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, these boots are perfect with a skirt. And Sania promises that I can walk at least 10 000 steps a day in these, no need to wear slippers in the office.
Of course I need a really nice notebook and a planner that I can use for all our meetings, and also decorate my table in a stylish way. I picked a black one, but there are so many colours to choose from, I am sure you will find your favorite. And the best is - you may also personalise them.
