Perhaps you’ve been there: sprinting through the airport to catch your flight, only for your carry-on’s handle to jam halfway up. A wheel begins to drag – or worse, detaches entirely. By the time your checked suitcase circles back on the baggage carousel, it’s split at the seams. And then there are the zippers, prone to splitting or breaking at the most inopportune moments. Travel days are already hectic, stressful and exhausting; dependable, well-crafted luggage should be the one thing you don’t have to think twice about.
At Vogue Scandinavia, we’ve had our fair share of packed travel schedules and, sadly, suitcases that can’t handle the frequent journeys Between fashion weeks, design festivals, press trips and events, our editorial team can find itself in transit several times a month. When you travel at that pace, even the smallest weaknesses in your luggage reveal themselves quickly. Over time, we’ve learned exactly what to look for: suitcases that not only look the part, but are built to endure and intuitively designed to move with ease.

Scandinavian brand Db’s latest launch, the Ramverk™ Alu luggage, ticks all the boxes. Expanding on the brand’s custom, modular travel system built to go the extra mile, Ramverk™ Alu introduces a luggage concept designed for modern travel. The project was born, the brand notes, from a formidable challenge: to create luggage “capable of enduring decades of movement, from frequent regional trips to international transit, without compromising functionality or form.”
The Ramverk™ Alu marks the latest evolution of Db’s award-winning Ramverk™ Pro luggage, bringing its signature hardware and quality construction into a sleek, minimalist aluminium hardcase. You won’t find a similar luggage design anywhere else – harnessing an entirely custom-engineered construction, each feature in the luggage has been built from the ground up, from the bespoke moulding and handles to the edge frames and wheel housings.

No more broken wheels or fractured shells, for the Ramverk™ Alu can endure even the toughest of trips. Its central frame, a signature of the Ramverk™ Pro design, ensures stability throughout the suitcase, bolstering impact absorption while reinforcing its structure to withstand the strains of frequent travel. Elsewhere, the trolley handle, crafted from a single piece of aluminium, provides a sturdy, smooth pull, while its carry handles, complete with a refined textile finish, offer an ergonomic grip. While the luggage is built to last, its streamlined, rivet-free construction renders its parts a breeze to replace and repair.
Available in three different sizes, a carry-on, and check-in suitcases in Medium or Large, the range is designed to suit various needs, whether you’re a light-packing, on-the-go traveller, or that ‘just in case’ maximalist packer.

Vogue Scandinavia’s senior beauty and shopping editor Josefin Forsberg – who recalls a nightmare moment from her time as a fashion assistant in London, when one of six suitcases burst open en route to set, leaving her to “scrape couture off the pavement” – was among the first on the team to put the new Ramverk™ Alu luggage to the test.
“As someone who travels roughly once per month for work, specifically on beauty-centric press trips, there are few things that are as useful in my arsenal as an aluminium carry-on case. Often, my preference is to not check in my luggage – keeping things speedy on and off the plane,” she says. “So when I first got my hands on the Ramverk™ Alu luggage, I was elated. Here, finally, was the sort of suitcase that is breezy to bring on board and will survive a tumble through the crude check-in process.”

Forsberg particularly appreciated the carry-on’s smart interiors, which keep everything organised and easily accessible whether moving through security or grabbing your laptop between flights. “There’s no need to faff with straps, and upon opening the bag, the pockets with zipper closures have all your electronics readily at hand for security checks,” she continues. “I’m happy to say I’ve never been through security quicker with a hard-case carry-on.”
The Ramverk™ Alu launches on Db’s online store at dbjourney.com and select stockists on the 7th of May
