Cos returned to New York Fashion Week with its AW25 collection, staged at Brooklyn’s Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse. Across 47 looks, the brand highlighted proportion, materiality, and its precise approach to design
Cos returned to New York Fashion Week with a presentation that underlined its position as one of fashion’s most consistent minimalists. The autumn/winter '25 collection, shown at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in Brooklyn, used the raw architecture of the space as a counterpoint to a meticulously staged runway. The warehouse, painted in pristine white, became an architectural frame where shifting light boxes tracked the movement of 47 looks, shifting soft amber to crystalline white. The result was a show that highlighted Cos’s discipline in both staging and design.
The clothes carried the same clarity. A palette of inky black, steel grey, and navy set the tone, with neutral shades cutting through to soften the severity. Materials did much of the work: pony-effect surfaces, shearling, and supple leathers were layered against matte wool and silk. Sheer fabrics introduced moments of transparency, while oversized checks covered coats, tailoring, and accessories, often styled head-to-toe. Every detail emphasised materiality over embellishment.
Womenswear and menswear developed in parallel, both exploring form through proportion and fabrication. Womenswear leaned on draped coats, high necklines, and cinched waists, with a silk dress styled multiple ways emerging as a highlight. Menswear pushed classic tailoring into oversized coats and tonal layers, tempered by functional details and textured knits. Accessories and footwear echoed the clothing in their restraint, from clean leather bags to sock boots and trainers.
The show demonstrated Cos’s ability to make quiet clothes that register in a loud fashion calendar. There were no unnecessary flourishes—only clear ideas about proportion, fabrication, and wearability. This is a wardrobe built for real use, but with a precision that ensures it resonates on the runway too.
