For those like Lisbon-based Vicky Montanari with an inclination to be playful with the way they dressing, Copenhagen Fashion Week is, well, a playground. Snapped every season between the runway shows in the Danish capital Vogue Scandinavia considers Montanari an honorary Copenhagen cool kid leading the charge with her eclectic and colourful looks. As the autumn/winter '25 season kick starts today, who better to turn to for front row-ready packing tips? Read on for an exclusive peek inside Montanari's suitcases as she prepares for one of the biggest events on the Scandi fashion calendar.
“Packing for fashion week is my favourite kind of packing,” Montanari enthuses from her home in Portugal, surrounded by her vibrant wardrobe. “I try to think about the most original and edgy combinations that match my style,” she explains, “and I’ve been using these moments to let my creativity flow and make my maximalist emerge. I pack imagining the fun that I can have with the garments I have in mind.”

Montanari is the first to admit that she is generally “messy and disorganised” but says she makes a big effort when it comes to fashion week packing. “I do a presentation with all of my looks and bring with me back-ups and accessories for each one, everything separated in packing cubes,” she shares. Her secret? Visualising everything she’s bringing, to make styling that little bit easier amidst the chaos of a jam-packed calendar and “not get lost in so many fits.”

What exactly does Copenhagen style look like to Montanari? “Effortless, cool with oversized garments, and a huge focus on quality and sustainability,” she describes. When it comes to the city's fashion week, her favourite aspect is the all-round sense of individuality. “It's not about who you are, but instead your originality and sense of fashion,” she says. “Also, the pillars of this FW are special,” she adds, alluding to the Copenhagen Fashion Week's industry-leading focus on sustainability and inclusivity.
Aside from her creative expression and style methodologies, Montanari shares some practical advice too – especially pertinent for this week's autumn/winter edition: “Tights and socks for sure,” she says, sparking ideas of endlessly inventive layering.

Montanari has a busy schedule lined up this week, but it's the footwear set to be on show that has her mosts excited. “I can’t wait to see next season’s shoes,” she shares. “Shoes are my favorite thing, and as it’s autumn/winter, the coats as well.”
