At Cecilie Bahnsen's autumn/winter '26 show during Paris Fashion Week, the beauty look bypassed the typical prim, proper, and perfect polish often seen on other runways. Instead, the effect was one of fresh exertion: a suggestion of flushed, post-activity perspiration, complemented by swept, effortlessly mobile hair
Did the models jog to Cecilie Bahnsen's show this season? A close-up of their beauty look certainly suggested as much: a light sheen of perspiration, a flushed blush, and hair that appeared delightfully wind-whipped. It was a fitting effect, considering the collection expanded on Bahnsen’s ongoing collaboration with North Face. It left us wondering whether the models had traversed the Alps to reach the venue, or simply navigated the steep climb up to Sacré-Cœur?
As is often the case with runway magic, this seemingly effortless look was in fact the result of meticulous craft, courtesy of Mason Pearson brushes. Yes, brushes. Plural. "Each head of hair was brushed for 15-20 minutes with multiple brushes," explained Cim Mahoney, lead hairstylist for the show. "The hair undergoes a metamorphosis from dry to shiny. It makes every texture come alive."
