The front row at the Cecilie Bahnsen anniversary show was a celebration all its own

For the Cecilie Bahnsen 10 year anniversary show at Copenhagen Fashion Week, guests turned up in a bevy of the Danish designer’s greatest hits. We take a closer look at the standout front row looks

Last week, in CPHFW’s very first “guest slot”, Cecilie Bahnsen hosted a 10 year anniversary show that celebrated a decade of the beloved Danish designer’s signature aesthetic. But Bahnsen’s greatest hits – which were mashed up into entirely new showpieces for the occasion – weren’t only on view on the runway. Front row, friends of the brand turned up in their Cecilie Bahnsen finery, wearing some of the designer’s most indelible frocks from over the years.

Given that the anniversary collection was a parade of white and silver, the looks worn by show-goers offered a delicious pop of colour. Amy Watson, the Artistic Director of the Royal Danish Ballet, stunned in a red empire-waisted midi dress with a balloon hem whilst Elle Japan contributing editor Fumina Tsuji (a Copenhagen local) charmed in an exploding pale pink mini dress, paired with white bloomers.

Though Bahnsen’s pieces boast a personality all their own, each guest adapted the look to their individual style. Jewellery designer Sophie Bille Brahe, for instance, paired a sheer sequinned skirt and Cecilie Bahnsen silver sneakers with a well worn vintage T-shirt. Sophia Roe, meanwhile, went characteristically minimalist in a black frock, black flip flops and shades.

The front row was also a family affair. Twins Qjin and Qwon Han turned up in coordinated floor sweeping canary yellow and pale pink gowns whilst mother-daughter duo Betty and Helly Krag proved effortless Danish style is, in fact, hereditary.
