Caro Editions gives Mulberry a whimsical Copenhagen twist

By Clare McInerney

What happens when Copenhagen’s queen of whimsy gets her hands on Mulberry’s classic handbags? The collaboration of our dreams has just landed at fashion week

Caro Editions loves it when people say, “it’s so Caro”, of its designs. And that's exactly what the Vogue Scandinavia team is saying upon seeing designer Caroline Bille Brahe's new collaboration with Mulberry.

Six one-of-a-kind Mulberry bags, each dressed up in Caro Editions’ signature bows, appliqués and playful textures – it’s a union so obvious you wonder why it didn’t happen sooner. This is Mulberry, but through a distinctly Caro lens: softer, quirkier, and layered with the kind of craft and sentiment that’s become Bille Brahe’s calling card.

The collaboration was unveiled during Caro Editions’ 'Under the Bridge' SS26 show – a sentimental and spirited restaging of Caroline’s own 2018 Copenhagen wedding. On Knippelsbro bridge, beneath the looming concrete, trailing veils floated past, dresses stitched with love notes and polka dots, with these Mulberry keepsakes casually slung in hand. The bags didn’t try to steal the scene, but they added texture – quietly eccentric and unmistakably Caro.

Through bows, embroidery, playful appliqués, and unexpected pairings of colour and texture, these bags embody Caro’s vision of giving storied objects a second life. Each is a love letter to craftsmanship and individuality – an invitation to carry history in a way that feels entirely new.
