Power dressing took a turn for the better with Brøgger's 1970s-inspired Spring/Summer 2022 collection

This season, Brøgger delves into a concept fashion so often ignores: the countless sacrifices and dichotomies inherent in the female experience. Specifically, women in the 1970s. In many ways, the collection is a love letter to Julie Brøgger’s own mother, who balanced motherhood with a successful career as a lawyer. An appropriate theme, given that Brøgger is about to have a child herself.

Sharp-lined power suits, shoulders wide, are set against more traditionally feminine silhouettes — a fluid silk dress or a waterfall of ruffles that skim the pavement. Soft yellows and peach — good enough to eat — offset darker, pin-striped fabrications. A floral pattern, hand-drawn by Brøgger herself, mimics the delicate flowers and grass that poke out throughout the concrete roof on which the show took place.
