With its spring/summer '26 show titled Paradox, BOSS staged a mirrored meditation on extremes in Milan. Tailoring met fluidity, matte collided with shine, and disorder became the order of the day.
BOSS titled its spring/summer '26 show 'Paradox', and the theme could not have been more fitting. Staged in Milan on a reflective runway designed by Boris Acket, the presentation explored the push and pull between order and disorder, polish and disarray. A poetic prelude by artist Sasha Stiles , 'A line begins where it ends' – set the mood for a collection that thrived in contradiction, refusing to choose one side of the spectrum.
Tailoring, long the house’s anchor, was at the heart of the collection, but softened and reimagined. Jackets came in single- and double-breasted cuts with eased shoulders and relaxed proportions, paired with trousers that puddled to the floor. Glossy leather coats and trenches injected severity into the line-up, their hard edges tempered by fluid fabrics and languid movement.
For womenswear, draped strapless dresses and column gowns captured the collection’s lighter side, while cocooning skirts and asymmetrical tunics reinforced its exploration of form in flux. Menswear balanced precision with ease: lightweight shirting, some with concealed plackets or drawstring hems, met wide-cut trousers and pleated shorts. Texture carried much of the tension, with matte cottons and brushed wool rubbing against silk satin, and supple leathers clashing with airy drapes. The palette remained restrained yet impactful: deep espresso, burgundy, and navy met the quiet neutrality of chalk, beige, and ivory. Occasionally, high-shine surfaces caught the light, further highlighting the theme of contrast. Accessories underscored the collection’s mood: oversized hobo bags slouched against sharp jackets, while rounded-toe footwear softened the harder edges of tailoring.
Casting amplified the show’s resonance. Ashley Graham and Paloma Elsesser gave presence and strength to clean strapless dresses, while a line-up of global ambassadors – including Aaron Pierre, Ishaan Khatter, and Maisa – reflected the brand’s international lens. And in a finale engineered for cultural impact, K-pop star S.COUPS closed the show in a sweeping leather coat, mirrored from under foot.
