I'm a beauty editor, and these 10 new product launches topped my list of March must-haves

By Josefin Forsberg

Every month, Vogue Scandinavia’s senior beauty editor, Josefin Forsberg, tests countless formulas to discover beauty products truly worth your attention. This March, she’s curated a must-try shortlist of standout launches spotlighting social media-trending colour cosmetics. Expect skin-smoothing ceramide drops, TikTok-debated gel tints, and an eyeshadow quad that made our editor gasp out loud upon first swatch, among other fresh picks. Dive into her curated edit of this month’s 10 beauty breakthroughs

1

Dr. Barbara Sturm

Ceramide Drops Face Oil

At a glance: Dr. Barbara Sturm's new Ceramide Drops is a multi-tasking skin booster. Built on a blend of skin-identical ceramides of natural oat lipids (a welcomed skin-barrier vigilante), precious oils (hello Argan, Evening Primrose, Sweet Almond, Macadamia, Grape Seed and Jojoba), a powerful carotenoid antioxidant (to help improve appearance and soothe discomfort), and wrinkle-battling agents like phytosqualane and purslane extract.

My experience: Listen, as someone who deals with dry skin and moisture-sapping Swedish winters, Dr. Barbara Sturm's potion may be pricey but oh-so worth it. During the day, I wrap my hydrating skincare steps with a few precious drops to seal the skin. During my evening routine, I mix a drop or two into my face cream to let this elasticity-enhancing hydration hero work it's magic overnight.

Ideal for: Those seeking a last-layer of defence against rough weather.

Chanel

Les 4 Ombres Utopia

Via Chanel

At a glance: The brain child of the Cécile Paravina (one third of the Cometes Collective) exclusively for the Camélia Futura Collection and housed in the brand's curated eyeshadow quad, the new Les 4 Ombres Utopia capitalises on Chanel's long-lasting mineral pigments enriched with plant oils ensure a smooth texture for effortless application. The colours, inspired by Chanel's emblematic camellia flower, reinterprets the delicate petals into four iridescent shades.

My experience: I audibly gasped when I first opened this little quad of colours. As a self-professed magpie, shiny things speak to me. And when I swatched the blue-purple duo-chrome pigments I couldn't help but croon. In fact, I made a full rotation around the office to make all of my colleagues fully appreciate the mastery of this eyeshadow palette. Not only does it have the expected pay-off and satin-smooth application Chanel shadows should – it has a futuristic wow-factor that is hard to replicate.

Ideal for: Eyeshadow-loving magpies who're looking for a little quad of joy to add to their kits.

3

Whamisa

Cactus Wrinkle & Brightening Magic Serum

At a glance: This high-viscosity serum is a hydrating and brightening K-Beauty treat formulated with cactus-derived mucilage. Combining Cactus Hydration Complex, delivering deep-penetrating hydration, with a naturally derived antioxidant blend that helps the skin regenerate itself and improve elasticity by promoting blood circulation, we've got one age-defying, skin-brightening powerhouse of a product.

My experience: I must admit it, it took some getting used to this viscose texture. A common-place in the world of K-beauty, it promises high-impact hydration that it absolutely delivers on. Better yet, there's no sticky residue once this serum sinks in.

Ideal for: K-beauty nerds looking for their next fix.

4

Oribe

Serene Scalp Densifying Shampoo

Via Bangerhead

At a glance: Combining Oribe's signature complex with hair-strengthening peptides, the luxury haircare brand's Serene Scalp Densifying Shampoo (and conditioner... and scalp serum...) promises not only fuller, voluminous healthy hair in three months, but it also puts a hold on hair loss.

My experience: For this trio of new products (all of which are worthy of a place on this list) I was not alone putting it to test. My husband also took part, and experienced an over-night transformation worth noting. Gone were any sign of a dry, itchy scalp as if whisked away by a magic wand. Left was a healthy, happy scalp which (as Oribe promises) will promote hair growth with time.

Ideal for: Recent mothers faced with hair falling out or as a preventative aid to age-related hair loss.

5

Milk Makeup

Hydro Grip Gel Tint

At a glance: The new sibling to Milk Makeup's classic Hydro Grip primer, the Hydro Grip Gel tint is a non-conodogemic base product that delivers a dew-kissed finish. With a featherlight feel and buildable formula, it combines three molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid to douse your skin in a deluge of hydration and rich in niacinamide, squalane and aloe water to refine skin texture and prevent creasing.

My experience: This base product may have been the base for a heated TikTok discussion, with two firm camps on it's performance. But, I would argue that's solely based on personal preference. For example, as someone who appreciates two-in-one product with the tac of the brand's cult-classified Hydro Grip primer with the subtle coverage of a tint – this product was a slam dunk for me. Whenever I've worn it over the past months, I have gotten countless questions about what foundation I am using. Happy to finally announce that the lit-from-within glow I've got going on is this.

Ideal for: Those looking for a your-skin-but-better, ultra glowy tint come summer.

6

Violette_FR

Bisou Blush in 'Maryam'

Via Violette_FR

At a glance: Inspired by neo-classical and renaissance paintings, founder Violette Serrat brought the Bisous Blush to life. A flush not a blush. This unique marbled formula features a swirl of two shades – one sheer and the other a richer hue – that blend together to create a seamless, multidimensional flush inspired by the 'sfumato' painting technique the masters used to create radiant, true-to-life skin.

My experience: While this isn't necessarily a new formulation, the addition of shades 'Maryam' (a berry red) and ' Marnie' (a cheek-bronzing brown) was very welcome on my vanity this month. Buildable and housed in an easy-to-apply stick, it's the no-fuss flush I will be sporting all throughout spring.

Ideal for: Makeup minimalists who want a swipe-and-go pinch of colour.

7

K18

AstroLift 118

At a glance: Promising two point five times the volume that can last up to two days, K18's Biomimetic Hairscience's AstroLift Reparative Volume Spray is infused with the brand's signature K18PEPTIDE - developed to fortify strands and replenish split, brittle or compromised hair. A barely-there mist is infused with a fusion of seaweed and arginine, alongside a renewable natural polymer, to keep your style safe from the threat of humidity, while granting immediate lift.

My experience: If weightless volume is something you seek, the out-of-this-world results of K18's AstroLift might be just the thing. Gravity-defying in every way, I've spritzed in dry and towel-dried hair, with and without heat styling with extra-large results. If va-va-voom is what you're after, however, I suggest you blow dry.

Ideal for: Volume-seekers who don't want every day upkeep.

8

Heliocare

Sensation SPF 50+

At a glance: An advanced, full-spectrum SPF50+ facial sunscreen with an ultralight, matte finish, Heliocare's Sensation is powered by Fernblock antioxidants. It fights free radicals, supports DNA repair, and maintains vitamin D function while Ginger Root Extract calms and protects – a potent mix of both sun protections and skincare in one melt-away formula.

My experience: I know this is a big claim to make, but this sunscreen might rival even my La Mer. Lightweight, La Mer The SPF is one of the few luxury products I feel are very (read very) worth my money. But, since wearing Heliocare's new Sensation SPF I might have a new contender for daily use. Water-like in its texture and unnoticeable under makeup, it is perfect for everyday use.

Ideal for: Those seeking solid SPF without the sticky side effects.

9

Susanne Kaufmann

AHA Enzyme Body Lotion

Via Bangerhead

At a glance: An innovation in body care performance, AHA Enzyme Body Lotion harnesses a potent 10 per cent blend of AHA, BHA and upcycled pumpkin enzymes to target dry, rough or "strawberry" skin, alongside soothing Albatrellus confluens (mushroom) extract to offer effective exfoliation without irritation.

My experience: No, this two-in-one exfoliant and body lotion may not have whisked away my keratosis pillars overnight. That said, I have seen a massive improvement on my 'strawberry skin' with regular use and I am sure my upper arms will be silky smooth by summer. Lest we forget the lovely spa-like scent and the long-lasting hydration.

Ideal for: buffing away dull winter skin just in time for shedding our cold-weather wardrobes.

10

Rare Beauty

Soft Pinch Liquid Contour

Via Sephora

At a glance: Selena Gomez's new weightless, liquid contour is an easy entry point to play with the shadows on your face. The versatile triangular applicator makes quick work of both light-handed dot-and-go applications and building up pigment with the broad-side, leaving the end results entirely in your hand. And just like the blushes in this line, a little goes a long way.

My experience: When I first tried Gomez's new contour formulation, I found it slightly tricky to master. The pigments were just so potent that I had a hard time avoiding a heavy-handed application. Now, however, having gotten used to the product, it makes it a breeze to define my features without a caked-on feeling.

Ideal for: Light-handed contour novices.
