Inside ATP Atelier’s new Italian cathedral-inspired flagship

By Clare McInerney

Inside the cathedral-inspired walls of the new Stockholm flagship, Vogue Scandinavia says ‘I do’ to the happy union of ATP Atelier’s Italian spirit and sleek Scandinavian design

At any given point in time in Scandinavia, we’re yearning for a dose of ‘la dolce vita’ – but none more so than these dark winter days. Now, ATP Atelier responds to our prayers, delivering an experience of southern Italy direct to Stockholm by way of its newly-opened flagship store at Jakobsbergsgatan 6.

The beloved accessories brand boasts covetable pieces that are designed in Stockholm and handmade in Italy, so it makes sense that the new location reflects this duality. Designed by Studio Abirascid Hemlin, the store draws inspiration from the majestic cathedrals of southern Italy together with sleek Scandinavian minimalist tendencies.

In a nod to ATP Atelier's Swedish and Italian DNA, the new flagship store at Jakobsbergsgatan draws inspiration from southern Italian cathedrals while maintaining a sleek Scandinavian feeling.

Upon entering the store – which is situated in the heart of Bibliotekstan, Stockholm’s luxury fashion district – visitors will notice clean lines, beautiful functionality and attention to detail throughout, including the use of Italian marble in a nod to the brand’s roots (and appreciation for natural and raw materials). Meanwhile, the store’s exterior is rendered in rare Swedish sandstone, making the site a truly unique architectural gem.

At the flagship’s entrance is what the brand describes as a fashion ‘shrine’, housing the most important pieces of the current collection (throughout December, likely to be sparkling, party-ready shoes and handbags). The immersive store unfolds across two levels, with a staircase between that serves as an homage to a pulpit – seamlessly merging the cathedral concept with modern design. Take a closely look at the detailing and craftsmanship of the staircase, brimming with the kind of artistry found in the most historic Italian cathedrals.

"I could not be more excited to introduce our new flagship, a space that encapsulates the rich heritage of southern Italian craftsmanship while embracing the clean, minimalist ethos of Scandinavia – just like our collections" says Maj-La Pizzelli, founder and creative director of ATP Atelier. “We look forward to welcoming both loyal customers and newcomers to experience the essence of ATP Atelier firsthand.”

To mark the grand opening of the flagship, ATP Atelier also introduces an exclusive Jakobsbergsgatan capsule collection in all-silver, only available at the store. The celebratory collection sees the brand’s iconic Montalcino bag, Dernice sling-back, Mary-Jane ballerina, Buonarotti pouch and Vinci wallet all rendered in shimmering silver vacchetta leather.
