Swedish home appliance company Asko, renowned for its cutting-edge offering, has just unveiled three new product lines to its range, each designed to make daily life easier – whether in the kitchen or the laundry room. Below, everything you need to know about these must-have appliances that fuse sleek Scandinavian design with next-generation technology
In 1950, a young Swedish farmer named Karl-Erik Andersson embarked on a mission to build a washing machine for his mother, who was burdened by the endless laundry on the farm. But he didn’t envision just any humble machine – passionate about protecting our planet, Andersson set out to design an innovative appliance that not only boasted a superb cleaning performance, durability and usability, but also consumed as little energy and water as possible.
From this loving gesture was born the very first piece that would form the foundation of Asko’s Swedish home appliance brand, which decades later merged with the renowned Finnish furniture maker of the same name, established in 1918. Today, Asko has grown into a global leader in premium, distinctly Scandinavian home appliances, defined by functionality, human-centred design and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

Celebrating 75 years of home technology excellence, Asko recently unveiled three new cutting-edge product lines at the 2025 Innovation For All fair in Berlin: The Scandinavian Laundry Care 2.0 laundry solutions, the Celsius ovens, and the Nordic Fresh™ 2.0 fridge range. “We’re not trying to change who we are; we're trying to redefine and clarify what happens when craftsmanship meets everyday life,” said Anders Hellgren, global marketing manager at Asko, ahead of the launches. “Asko has always been built on care and perfected by the details.”
Expanding on the principles first set by Andersson, who sought to make his mother’s life easier while caring for the environment, Asko’s new product lines blend trailblazing technology with eco-conscious, lasting design, complete with the clean lines that have become a hallmark of the company’s creations.

Take, for instance, the Scandinavian Laundry Care 2.0, which turns a daily chore into an effortless, enjoyable and hygiene-first task with its progressive washing machines and tumble dryers. At the core of these new laundry solutions is the award-winning Steel Seal™ washing machine free from the rubber seal used in standard washing machines, which, as noted by Pernilla Döse, Asko’s design manager, “is almost like a magnet for bacteria, mould and fungi.” Instead, it harnesses a durable seal crafted from stainless steel, rendering the laundry 95 per cent freer of microbiological contaminants, all while being energy-efficient and quiet.

Enjoy cooking? Get ready for Asko’s new Celsius ovens to elevate your next culinary experience, inspired by the famed Swedish scientist Anders Celsius. “A big part of the Asko kitchen philosophy is that we make our appliances multi-functional, that we have space-saving solutions and that they are really user-friendly,” explains Vincent Hofstee, global design manager at Asko.
This ethos is echoed in these next-gen ovens, which hone in on temperature mastery as the key to great cooking. Featuring Asko’s pioneering Celsius°Cooking™ technology, they use advanced sensors and smart algorithms to monitor food and ensure exact temperature control – no need for Michelin-level skills to serve up a delicious meal. The ovens also incorporate steam-cooking functions that automatically adjust to the quantity of food to preserve flavour, vitamins and texture, while an integrated air fry system spares you from cluttering your kitchen space with yet another appliance.

Speaking of food, Asko’s latest Nordic Fresh™ 2.0 fridge range may look minimalist from the outside, yet it houses highly advanced technology within, combining spacious design with optimal freshness for your ingredients. Arriving in three refined colour options of Stainless Steel, Black Steel, or White, the fridges feature innovations like the Auto Humidity Control, which keeps fruit and vegetables at an ideal 85-90 per cent humidity, and the OptiFlow, which achieves consistent cooling across every shelf, swiftly restoring temperatures when the door is opened. Elsewhere, the No Frost functionality in the freezers eliminates the hassle of manual defrosting. “Inspired by Scandinavia, I think we've delivered a very elegant refrigerator line with outstanding performance,” Hofstee muses. “It’s a great example of how we can make daily life more comfortable.”
