aiayu - AW26

By Eleanor Kittle

Back for another round at Copenhagen Fashion Week, Aiayu is delving into the space between one and many for AW26

Aiayu marked its return to the Copenhagen runway with its second show, staged within the storied halls of the Charlottenborg building. The collection unfolded as a considered exploration of the liminal space between individuality and togetherness, pushing these dualities to their aesthetic extremes – a tension echoed from the models’ choreography to the show’s tightly controlled colour palette.

Under the direction of Breckylun Davila Drescher, models moved in fluid, living formations, their styling forming a natural tonal gradient that softened and merged into a singular, cohesive whole. At the collection’s core were undyed ecru, pure white and dove mouliné, punctuated by subtle soft-blue undertones that brought clarity, while dusty rose hues introduced a necessary warmth. The show opened with a sea of ethereal white shirting and knitwear, before shifting into a cooler register of classic navy and washed French blues, rendered in gently masculine silhouettes. These tones gradually gave way to boxy layers in warm khaki, bark and cognac, before the collection closed serenely with elegant black silk co-ords.

“The collection and the show are shaped by the relationship between individuality and togetherness,” explained founder and creative director Maria Hogh Heilmann. “How many different layers of materials, stories and hands come together to create something meaningful. In many ways, this show feels like a reflection of our garments themselves – formed by the purest fibres, their origins, and the craftsmanship and heritage carried within them.”
