From the page to the street of Paris — Acne Studios brings Acne Paper to life with a new permanent gallery at Palais Royal.
Acne Studios is making a significant step in its cultural evolution with the inauguration of Acne Paper Palais Royal – the Swedish brand’s first permanent gallery space situated beneath the storied arcades of Paris's Palais Royal.
Opening on June 26th, the gallery is a natural extension of Acne Paper, Acne Studios’ biannual publication that has long blurred the lines between fashion, art, literature, and philosophy. With this new venture, the brand cements its identity not only as a fashion house, but as a cultural protagonist — deeply embedded in the creative conversation of today.

Conceived as a site of creative exchange, Acne Paper Palais Royal will host a dynamic, cross-disciplinary program encompassing exhibitions, artist talks, magazine launches, book signings, and cultural events. Drawing inspiration from the intellectual spirit of the magazine, the space will welcome both established and emerging voices, each invited to engage with the gallery’s neoclassical surroundings and rich artistic context.
The inaugural exhibition sets the tone: a solo show by Dutch photographer Paul Kooiker, known for his evocative, genre-defying images. Simply titled 2025, the exhibition features 42 portraits of international students at Amsterdam’s Gerrit Rietveld Academie. While echoing the familiar format of school photography, Kooiker’s lens captures something far more ephemeral – a portrait of instability and transition in the lives of a new generation of image-makers. The work is a fitting debut for a space dedicated to pushing cultural boundaries and embracing the unexpected.

Located at 124 Galerie de Valois and overlooking the historic Palais Royal gardens, the gallery places Acne Studios at a symbolic crossroads between heritage and innovation, offering a new physical outpost of its ethos – one that’s as committed to culture as it is to clothing.
