As we prepare to leave 2025 in the dust and look forward to 2026, we ask 8 Scandinavian fashion insiders to share their New Year's resolutions, which range from the deep and profound to the deeply practical

Ah 2025, you were quite an odd year, weren’t you? It was, after all, the year of the great designer shakeup, the year of Alexander Skarsgård’s sexiest outfits and the year of the Labubu. But enough about all that – it’s time to cast our gaze towards 2026. And what better way to kick off the new year than by setting an intention by way of a New Year’s resolution?

And so, we reached out to a handful of Scandinavian fashion insiders to reveal their New Year’s resolutions for 2026. Some were heartfelt, some where practical, all provide some solid inspo for one’s own fresh start.

Here’s hoping we can all make them stick this year. Let’s get to it.

Malene Malling, founder of La Bagatelle

“I want to be more gentle on myself and enjoy a slower pace once in a while. I need it. For my soul and my creativity.”

Fredrik Robertsson, couture collector

“My New Year’s resolution is to curate my closet and archives better and be more strategic in my purchases. No spontaneous shopping sprees with random stuff – but thinking long-term, buy less and only iconic pieces.”

Caroline Winberg, model

“My New Year’s Resolution is to get better at ice skating so I can win against the kids in the annual parents again children hockey game.”

Sandra Hagelstam, founder of Hagelstam

“My yearly promise is to commit to Veganuary. It creates a kind of structure and awareness at the very start of the year. It sharpens discipline, supports wellbeing and makes you more conscious of what you consumer – not just food, but habits in general. It’s a meaningful way to begin the year with purpose.”

Ceval, model

“My New Year’s Resolution is to be more bold and confident in the things I want to do.”

Sigurd Bank, founder of mfpen

“So basic, but start going to the gym. Not sure if it’s a New Year’s Resolution as I actually started a month ago. It’s mainly for my mental health, and lately we have so many projects going on – so I need to take care of myself.”

Isabella Rose Davey, COO of Copenhagen Fashion Week

“My resolution is to be more curious. Maybe I’m starting to feel my age or Samantha Harvey’s Orbital left a bigger impression on me than I realise, but I want to learn more this 2026. The world is so big, beautiful and bizarre: I want to spend this coming year in a perpetual state of discovery.”
