As Princess Marie of Denmark finishes her humanitarian trip to Cambodia, Vogue Scandinavia lists five things to know about the beloved Danish royal
One of the oldest monarchies in the world, the Danish royal family is amongst the most popular kingdoms globally, known for their outstanding work in diplomacy and humanitarian aid. In addition to the family members who have been born into royalty, spearheading the important work are their spouses who have married into the monarchy.
A fellow commoner-come-princess to the style icon Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Princess Marie of Denmark is a valuable ambassador for the country. On April 3, Her Royal Highness embarked on a humanitarian trip to Cambodia, set to end today.
As honorary president of DanChurchAid, the Danish church's humanitarian foundation, Princess Marie's visit focused on areas that she and the foundation have tackled for years: human rights, poverty, and sustainable development. Celebrating 100 years of DanChurchAid, the trip also marks the Princess' 10th anniversary as Patron, where Cambodia holds a special place for HRH as the first destination she travelled to after obtaining her new role with the organisation.
While some might be more familiar with her royal sister-in-law, below, Vogue Scandinavia enlightens you on 5 things to know about Princess Marie of Denmark.
